How to Identify suspicious emails

Regularly and carefully review the emails and data you are receiving
  • Check your account statements and transactions summary/listings on a regular basis.  If you notice an unfamiliar transaction or discrepancy, contact us immediately. There are different reporting deadlines for different types of transactions. See your account agreement(s) for more information.
  • Regularly and carefully review the emails you are receiving. Verify the sender of the email messages received by you and if you receive suspicious messages, do not open them and do not open or detach the attachments.
  • If something worries you or seems confusing, please, notify the bank on the contact telephone numbers or via email.
How to treat suspicious email messages

Upon receiving a suspicious email message keep in mind the following:

  • Malicious email messages for fraud or information theft are usually messages with the following characteristics:
    they request personal information by stating different reasons (such as technical, renewal, termination of services, etc.)
  • BOB will never send you unsolicited emails or text messages asking for personal information for any reason or containing contain links which require confirmation of personal information (the links are usually shortcuts) to certain internet pages, which are loaded by clicking with the left mouse button over the link).  DO NOT use such links sent to you by email that contain attachments.  Do not open any attachments to this type of email messages.
  • BOB will never ask you to send your Online ID, Passwords, PINs, or other confidential information via email, and will never send emails requiring you to call a particular phone number and disclose any personally identifiable and/or identification data. If you receive such an email message, do not follow the instructions therein.
  • Do not visit sites that require you to disclose personal information concerning your access and identification to BOB Online or any other confidential documents.
Be wary of unsolicited electronic communications

NEVER respond to unsolicited pop-ups, emails, or SMS requests that ask you to reveal personal information about yourself or your BOB accounts.  BOB will never send you unsolicited emails or text messages asking for your Online ID, Password, PIN, nor Account numbers.

BOB will never ask you to validate or restore your account access through unsolicited email, text message or calls.
